8. Do not type your secrets.

What you type goes to the company's computers. Depending on the tool and its settings, your conversations may be stored or used to improve the product.

Simple rule: Treat the chat window like a conversation in a public place. Fine for general topics. Not the place for passwords, Social Security numbers, bank details, or private medical information.

Most tools have privacy settings. It is worth checking them if you plan to use a chatbot regularly.

When in doubt, leave it out.
